I was born in South Texas and continue to call Corpus Christi home. I have spent my life exploring the outdoors. My favorite classes in school were always art classes, wood shop & metal shop. I would draw comics from the newspaper when I was young; this was my first experience with art. I am self-taught and started exploring digital art on my computer. This led to works on canvas, which I began in 2012. My mediums are acrylic, dye, ink, pencil & charcoal. Painting for me is a journey. I paint expressionistic seascapes & abstract works. I try to keep my mind open as I paint, relying on images that come to me during the process. Although I do have preconceived ideas, the process is spontaneous. I am intrigued by geometric shapes, stars, planets and seascapes. Patterns revealed in life are often reflected back to the canvas through the colored filter of memory, in a meditative process through which form battles expression for dominance. Less

It brings me great joy and happiness when I am working in my studio and am able to focus completely on the possibilities that artistic creation provides. I have been told that I am slightly disorganized, a "dreamer". I'm a person who focuses on the end result rather than the immediate task at hand. I have always been creative and spontaneous, but, perhaps, lacking in direction and focus. I'm a learner who is generally patient and a person for whom time is an ally, not an enemy. Freedom! Creative freedom. The lack of rules. When I started drawing and painting, another artist told me that there are no rules and there is no right or wrong when it comes to art. I just ran with that, the freedom to create and change that creation until I feel it is complete.
