Artist Statement:
The foundation of my work is the interaction drawn from my exploration and connection with the world. As relationships develop with continued interaction, my paintings are formed by the addition or subtraction of layers and layers of paint. I think of my work as remnants of remembrances, fleeting glimpses of past interactions.
I work primarily with acrylic paint on canvas or linen in the gestural abstract style. My work is intuitive, that is I make no initial decisions about direction. I just let my feeling and emotion take over. Progression can be quick or painfully slow. Some works are completed in a matter of days while others are under consideration for much longer.
