ARTIST STATEMENT: I think life is a largely subjective experience; but that subjective experience is my bridge to the objective world. And it’s this synthesis of the two that I am trying to capture.
INSPIRATION AND PROCESS: I love experimenting and want to give my works an individual expression. Most of my works are abstracted from nature but I also do non-objective paintings. I am inspired by the beauty and power of natural phenomena, the mystery of nature, its colors and forms. Every painting is a one-of-a-kind work in which I try to combine feeling and thought. I work most of the time with acrylics but I also mix acrylics with other media such as oil pastel, soft pastel, spray paint, graphite and charcoal or ink. All materials I use, if canvas, paper or paints are of artist quality.

Artistic Influences:
When I was very young I liked, of course, the impressionist painters. And - totally different - Renaissance art. I was very impressed by the beautiful colours, the blues, the gold.
Nowadays I am very interested in the art of Cezanne, Joan Mitchell, Peter Doig, Cy Twombly. You can see that my spectrum of interests is wide. I guess, the mere thing is that the art is good.
But the most important thing for me is to not be completely taken over by the influence of another painter - even if I admire her or him a lot - but produce my own, individual work.
