MULTIVERSAL EXPRESSIONISM:
A 21ST CENTURY
MODERN ART GENRE
"Multidimensional Fine Art" is a 21st Century genre currently in its nascent stage, but on the verge of a rapid global expansion. In March, 2004, I felt compelled to transition from the business world into the art world. Ergo, I purchased $5000 worth of art supplies "on a whim" and decided that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. It was a conscious intent to create something tangible, real, and formidable that became stronger and stronger, and as the months of that year passed, it had become quite clear to me that something was trying to form.
After eleven years of painting full time, the work now seems to emanate a subtle, other-worldly energy that somehow initiates a metamorphic effect on the viewer, resulting in an evolutionary impulse so vitally needed now for the healing of humanity.
The digital works are initially fashioned from scratch in Photoshop, then printed out on canvas or acrylic glass, and then other mediums, such as oil, acrylic, and/or pastel are applied onto the surface. I have found this "layering process" to contribute greatly to the multidimensional and "3 D" effects in the finished painting.
I prefer working with heavy impasto, applying much of the paint with the palette knife with greater frequency than the brush. I then spray mineral spirits lightly onto the surface, allowing it to thin the paint after it is applied, creating an organic, more natural style of deterioration and entropy. The end result is a relic-like, grainy, and textured archaic appearance resembling an aged fresco that's been decaying for centuries.
The subtle forms and imagery that emerge as I paint sometimes become portraits and other times remain hidden behind a veil of abstractions. Some of my collectors have conveyed the artwork radiates a zen-like calming effect on the nerves, allowing them a glimmer of peaceful bliss and tranquility.
As an "Urban Shaman," I have learned over the years to take my mind out of the equation when I paint. This allows for trance-like visions to emerge on the surface into multiple layers and facets (reflecting the multiple dimensions) onto abstract imagery, inculcating a synthesis of sacred geometry, metaphysics, quantum physics, mystical symbolism, and Jungian archetypes.
The works have ostensibly invoked a muse from the higher dimensional astral planes to be channeled and fully expressed as a catalyst toward our evolution into the Next Human. I also see the mystical artworks as an impetus for transporting and elevating the viewer's consciousness into the more subtle, spiritual realms of enlightenment.
For me, each piece in the collection manifests a transformational, healing, rejuvenating effect on my emotional body. Subsequently, as the Multidimensional Expressionism has evolved over the past eleven years, I have evolved right along with it.
