DAN FOGEL:
As an artist, I am inspired by the way things look in the world around me and on my canvas. I want my artwork first to engage the eye and then the mind. Drawing is an essential element of my work. It is my hope that if a painting is visually interesting it will lead to further contemplation.
The compositions I chose invite viewers to consider metaphorical and psychological interpretations for ordinary things. The objects become symbolic containers for the viewer’s own thoughts and feelings.
